It is a requirement under the terms of your lease to obtain landlords consent for alterations before commencing any works. Not doing so will mean you are in breach of your lease, which can have serious consequences including difficulties in selling your property or delays with the sale. The Council cannot unreasonably withhold consent for alterations to your property provided all the necessary consents and regulations have been agreed.
