Consultation for 30 Hours Nursery Provision

Dear Parents and Carers As you may be aware, in September 2017 the government are implementing 30 hours of funded childcare for any three year olds whose parents meet the following criteria; • Both parents must be working (or the sole parent in a single parent family) • Each parent must have a weekly income equivalent to 16 hours at national minimum or living wage (£115.20 if over 25) • Neither parent has an income of more than £100,000 per year We are trying to estimate the demand for this extended entitlement and are considering the possible ways of offering these additional hours. As a school, offering 30 hours within only our own nursery would impact on the amount of children who could benefit from receiving high quality education, reducing the amount of places available by half. However to make an informed decision we need to consult on how many people would be eligible and want to take up these places. Please note that there is no obligation to commit yourself right now, but we would be grateful for your feedback with regard to your future childcare requirements so that we can endeavour to meet the needs of our families in our community. Please complete the questionnaire by Friday 28th April.
