Postgraduate Certificate in Patient Safety & Quality Improvement:
To develop leadership capability and competence
The North East & North Cumbria Patient Safety Collaborative (NE&NC PSC) is delighted to announce that it will fund course fees for a cohort of students to undertake a postgraduate certificate in Patient Safety and Quality Improvement (developing leadership, capability and competence).
There is an increasing need for innovation and transformation in health service design to improve quality and safety, and ensure that service improvements are sutsained and spread across healthcare providers. The new NHS Patient Safety Strategy recognises the current shortfall in quality and safety improvement expertise, and promotes increased education and training of staff. This module will support students to develop the leadership knowledge and skills and experience in Quality Improvement and Patient Sfaety to address some of these challenges and support quality improvement and safe healthcare in their organisation.
This course is being run by Sunderland University in collaboration with the Academic Health Science Network for North East North Cumbria and will commence on 6th January 2020.
As part of our work to increase the quality improvement capacity and capability within the North East & North Cumbria to commission and deliver safer care for our population, we have agreed to fund 100% of tuition fees for professionals working in healthcare within the region to undertake this accredited programme at one of the world’s leading universities.
