NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative (NOE CPC) is undertaking preliminary market engagement to inform the development of a replacement framework for its existing Laundry and Linen Services Total Solutions (NOE.0572) framework, serving the NHS and the wider public sector.
The linen and laundry market continues to face significant pressures, including cost volatility, workforce challenges, sustainability requirements, and increasingly complex service needs across different care settings. There is a particular need to better understand the challenges associated with ambulance services and mental health environments, where service delivery models, operational risks, and linen‑loss issues can differ.
This engagement is intended to help shape a future framework that:
• Is resilient, sustainable, and deliverable
• Reflects operational realities across diverse care settings
• Encourages innovation, linen‑loss reduction, and improved data visibility
• Aligns with NHS priorities and wider public‑sector policy objectives
Feedback gathered through this survey will be used to inform the proposed service scope, framework structure, commercial and pricing models, performance and management arrangements, and potential optional service elements such as transport provision, training and operational support, and technology‑enabled solutions.
This survey is not a procurement exercise and does not form part of any competitive process. Participation is voluntary, does not confer any advantage or disadvantage in any future procurement, and responses will be considered on an aggregated and non‑attributable basis.
Following the survey, NOE CPC intends to hold one‑to‑one engagement sessions with interested suppliers to explore key themes and findings in more detail. Notes will be taken during these sessions.
Thank you for sharing your insight and supporting the development of a future linen and laundry framework that is fit for purpose and responsive to the needs of the NHS and the wider public sector.
