Area Budget Grants

Area Partnerships are each allocated an Area Budget by Glasgow City Council to assist with their role in the Glasgow Community Planning Partnership. These budgets are mainly used to provide grants to local community and voluntary organisations to provide services that will help to achieve the Area Partnership's local priorities and Glasgow City Council's objectives.

The Glasgow Community Plan 2024 details the priority local outcome of: Family Poverty and Reducing Poverty & Inequalities in Glasgow's Communities.

Any application for funding from the Area Partnership Budget needs to demonstrate a fit with local priorities and the involvement of local communities. Applications for funding should be developed locally to meet identified needs and they should demonstrate how they will benefit an area/ community within the Partnership's boundary.

Application deadlines

• Applications requesting funding between £300 and £750 may be considered monthly on the 1st of the month, subject to the relevant Area Partnership having agreed to delegate the decision outside of a formal meeting. Please see Guidance Notes for more detail.
• Applications requesting funding of over £750 from the Area Budget will be submitted to Area Partnership meeting for decisions. Applications covering multiple wards

• The Area Budget funds activity at a local level and must benefit residents within a defined area of up to eight neighbouring wards (see the Glasgow ward map). Citywide projects are not eligible.

• Each Area Partnership has its own application deadline, linked to its meeting date. If your project spans multiple wards, apply by the earliest relevant deadline.

• Only one application form should be submitted per project or event, even for projects covering multiple areas.
