Dear Families,

School Clubs

We’re pleased to let you know that we will be starting to run clubs on Monday 12th January. We are extremely fortunate to have so many staff that are able to share their skills and expertise. I am incredibly grateful to them for doing so on a voluntary basis and giving their time freely.

We will continue to allocate club places in a range of ways. Some of them will be run on an invitation only basis and will therefore not be listed on our general club letter. This may be because we need to work with a particular group of children in the run up to a competitive event or because we would like to help individuals acquire particular skills, e.g. through a language club which supports bilingual children.

The majority of our clubs will continue to be inclusive, and we will endeavour to ensure that as many children as possible benefit from the range of opportunities on offer. At times it may be appropriate to assign some of the spaces to children who are eligible for the pupil premium. For those who may not know, the pupil premium is additional funding allocated to schools to improve the educational outcomes for pupils that might be considered to be economically disadvantaged. Prioritising opportunities for these pupils is standard practice in all schools and is indeed an expectation from Ofsted.

The deadline for responses is 12 noon Monday 15th December. Spaces will be allocated via Edulink One, in 'CLUBS' after this deadline and before the start date. Please be assured that a great deal of time and effort goes into the allocation of places and will continue to do our very best to ensure that every child who has requested clubs gets at least one of their choices. No late applications can be accepted.

We will let you know if your child(ren) have been allocated spaces on or before Friday 9th January. The clubs will start Monday 12th January and run for 8 weeks until Friday 13 March.
