Hello and welcome to the Bristol Cultural Impact Survey! We’re glad you found your way here.
If you are an organisation that creates cultural work, run events, festivals, club nights, are designers, makers, dancers, studio managers, libraries, museums, theatres and more, we want you to be a part of showcasing and evidencing the impact of the sector in Bristol.
We want as many cultural organisations to fill this out as possible so we can show how cultural organisations maintain and shape Bristol as a cultural city, and use the evidence to support action and policy. The data shared with us last year made the powerful case that in 2023/24 the city’s cultural sector generated £892.9 million in economic and social value, reached an audience of 10.9 million people and leveraged £88 for every £1 invested by the council. By contributing 2024/25 data, you help strengthen this collective evidence base.
In response to feedback that last year’s survey was too long and complex, the new survey has been simplified and significantly reduced in length to make it quicker and easier to complete.
You will receive your own economic and social value impact assessment scores to support your own funding applications (the relevant questions are highlighted in the guidance), as well as being part of supporting the sector as a whole by helping to show how much culture and it’s skilled workforce do in the city, and how far it reaches.
Thank you.
