Safeguarding
Is everyone’s responsibility
We ask that you play your role in helping us to keep our community safe.
During your visit
Sign in at our main reception on arrival and collect your visitor lanyard.
Depending on the circumstances, you may be asked to show your identification and DBS certificate.
Always remain with your host, unless we confirm that we consent to you being unaccompanied.
Wear your lanyard at all times.
Sign out when leaving and return your badge.
Safeguarding
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect staff, visitors and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you notice anything that concerns you at any point during your visit, you must report it immediately – no concern is too small.
Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Alison Godfrey – she is also our Headteacher.
Our Deputy Safeguarding Leads are Miss Alway, Miss Vine, Mrs Raybould, Mrs Byrne, Mr N. Jones and Mr Richards.
All our safeguarding leads are experienced and well trained to address any concerns you share. Please ask to speak to one of them if you have any concerns.
If a child shares concerns with you during your visit:
DO:
Listen carefully and stay calm
Take the child seriously
Reassure them that they did the right thing
Report to a DSL immediately
DO NOT:
Promise confidentiality
Ask leading questions
Investigate yourself
Photographs and filming
We have strict rules regarding the use of cameras and phones at Dunalley. If you feel that there are exceptional circumstances which may require you to take photos or film, please discuss this with a senior leader to request consent.
