Electric charge-points for Hackney carriage vehicles survey

Bristol City Council has been awarded funding to install up to four rapid charge points for charging electric vehicles (EV), that could offer Hackney taxis a cheaper tariff and potentially a booking service. Four charge points can simultaneously charge up to eight vehicles. The LEVC (London Electric Vehicle Company) taxi, which has a usable battery capacity of 23kWh, can be fully charged by a rapid charge point in less than 30 minutes.

The new charging units will provide a service to Hackney drivers who have already switched to EVs and will continue to support new drivers for many years to come. As the number of EV taxis grows, the Council will continue to support taxi drivers with modern infrastructure and the best available levels of service.

The Council are keen to engage with drivers to better understand how to provide the most effective charging network so do please complete the following questions.
