1. Section 1 - Why we collect and process the data collected
The Welsh Government will be the Data Controller for your personal data which will be collected and stored securely by Welsh Government; the details will include name, organisation, email and telephone contact information. The purpose of collecting this data is for Welsh Government to liaise with you specifically with regards to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). 
We will contact you to notify you of opportunities to attend conferences and bespoke learning journeys and send you information about upcoming events and wider resources which may be of interest to you.

Lawful basis for processing.

Your personal data is processed with your consent, which is obtained when you submit your response to the survey questions.

Who will have access to your data?

Your data will be viewable to Welsh Government officials administering the Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). We may on occasion share your details with MIT directly for the purpose of delivering the ILP along with third party organisations for the purpose of creating and distributing the newsletter, making travel arrangements or otherwise delivering events as part of the ILP.

How long are your details kept?

The Welsh Government is currently a member of ILP until 31 August 2022. Your details will be retained until this time, unless you request for your details to be removed from our database. Should Welsh Government renew its membership of ILP then you will be asked to opt in again to ensure you continue to be kept informed with the latest news and opportunities to engage with MIT through ILP. If Welsh Government does not renew membership of ILP beyond August 2022 then you will be notified in writing and the database will be permanently deleted when the membership expires.

Your rights

Under the data protection legislation, you have the right:
• to access the personal data the Welsh Government holds on you;
• require us to rectify inaccuracies in that data
• to (in certain circumstances) object to or restrict processing
• for (in certain circumstances) your data to be ‘erased’
• to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) who is our independent regulator for data protection
