Would you like to get more involved in public life and have an impact on the decisions that are made that affect you and your communities? EYST Wales is now recruiting for the third round of the successful BAME Routes to Public Life Mentoring Scheme. The scheme is intended to help people with a Black, Asian or other Minority Ethic (BAME) background to develop political skills and ultimately increase representation in public life in Wales.  The third round of the scheme will run from September 2020 to March 2021 and will include: 1-1 mentoring with highly influential people; Bespoke training sessions on political influencing, communications and campaigning; and a trip to UK Houses of Parliament (Covid-19 restrictions permitting).  Or for more info, paste the following link into your browser:  https://bit.ly/3jxXZJh

11. Between Late September 2020 and March 2021, will you be able to commit to meet up with your mentor via phone/video conferencing once every 4-6 weeks for at least an hour each meeting?

 

12. Ability to attend mentee training events - Between September 2020 and March 2021, there will be monthly training events for mentees (including an online launch and closing celebration in March). The training will focus on skills for public life such as public communication, public policy in Wales, understanding and influencing the Welsh Assembly, campaigning for social change, understanding political parties in Wales, achieving positions on public boards. The training events will take place on weekdays from 9:30-4:30 and will most likely be online.

Will you be able to attend at least four of six training events between October and March?
