Background

Cheshire West and Chester Council is seeking views on proposals to introduce moving traffic enforcement at additional locations across the borough.  Moving traffic enforcement allows local authorities to enforce certain road traffic restrictions using approved camera technology.

The restrictions being enforced already exist and are currently enforceable by the Police. Moving traffic enforcement does not create any new restrictions but improves compliance with existing traffic rules.

There are 11 potential sites identified for consultation where the Council is proposing to introduce camera enforcement from which the Council would initially select four locations with the strongest overall case for enforcement.
