A warm welcome to our new pupils and their families.
To help us begin to find out all about your child and their interests we would like to invite families to start using Tapestry straight away. Tapestry is an online learning journal which will be used during the whole of your child's Reception year with us.
This personal on-line Learning Journey enables the staff to record observations and assessments of learning, which compliments other forms of assessment already in place.
Observations can include notes, photographs and videos, and provides links to EYFS assessments and the characteristics of effective learning. In addition to viewing staff observations and assessments parents are invited to add to the journals by uploading photos and comments of their own.
This on-line learning journal is hosted on secure servers in the EU. These servers conform to very high environmental standards. Each Tapestry account has its own database and the code itself is developed using hack-resistant techniques.
E-safety is extremely important to us therefore we ask you to please complete and sign the form on the following page and return as soon as possible to show that you have read, understood and agree with our guidelines.
Once you have signed and returned your permission slip and consent form your child’s learning journal will be set up as well as your parent account. You will be emailed, using the email addresses provided, with a link to the Tapestry log on page, your username (which is your email address) and your password. We strongly recommend that you change your password on your first visit.
You will only be able to access this by using the log in details that will be given to you on receipt of the signed user agreement below.
By logging on with a secure username and password you will be able to access your child’s journal. Parents are only able to view their own child’s journal and all information is stored on a highly secure server which is monitored closely.
You will be able to access your child’s Learning Journey from a computer via https://tapestryjournal.com, or by using the ‘Tapestry’ App on mobile devices.
