Introduction

The Mayor of West Yorkshire will be launching her Co-Produced Serious Violence Strategy later this year. (Spring 2026).  Key priorities for that strategy have already been identified after consultation with communities across West Yorkshire.

Your project should utilise innovative and creative methods which aim to tackle serious violence in local communities.
Projects which support the ‘Build’ element of ‘Clear Hold Build’ are encouraged, which is a framework developed by the Home Office to help police forces tackle serious and organised crime. It reclaims and rebuilds neighbourhoods affected by organised crime, makes areas safer and increases public confidence in the police and partner agencies.

Applications under ‘Clear, Hold, Build’ are restricted to projects delivering in Bradford (BD3 only), Calderdale (Park Ward), Kirklees (Ashbrow only) and Leeds (Harehills only).

You can find out more information on the Clear, Hold, Build pilot here.  The Mayor recognises that the ‘Build’ element of this initiative directly supports safer communities.
