What is Healthwatch?
Healthwatch North Yorkshire is the independent champion for people using local health and care services. We listen to what people like about services, and to what could be improved. We share these views with the people who have the power to make a difference.
What is Enter and View?Part of the local Healthwatch programme is to undertake Enter and View visits. Healthwatch have a legal power to visit health and social care services to see them in action and to speak to people using the service, their carers and relatives. This power offers a way for us to meet some of our statutory functions and allows us to identify what is working well with services and where they could be improved.
Our team of authorised representatives conduct Enter and View visits to local health and social care services to find out how services are being run and make recommendations where there are areas for improvement. Healthwatch Enter and View visits are not intended to specifically identify safeguarding issues. However, if safeguarding concerns arise during a visit, they are reported in accordance with Healthwatch safeguarding policies.
We are currently conducting Enter & View visits into care homes across North Yorkshire and will be visiting Hillcrest Care Home on a date between Monday 19th May and Monday 2nd June 2025.
On the day of the visit we will observe the nature and quality of the service and will talk to residents, family & friends of residents and staff. In case you are not available to talk to us on the day we visit we have developed this short online survey for staff to complete to ensure everyone has a chance to share their views and experiences.
This survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
Some questions of this survey are marked with * (asterisk) which means are required your response to evaluate the quality of care and life of the residents. Thank you so much!
