Data protection regulations
The Department for Transport (DfT) is carrying out this application process to select the 2026 to 2027 cohort of volunteer aviation ambassadors. DfT will, under data protection law, be the controller of this information. You will need to provide the following information:
- personal and contact information, which will be used for due diligence checks if you are successful
- an agreement to the role criteria
- an outline of your experience in the aviation industry, including your current and previous roles and duties
- a description of your interest in the role
- why you believe you're suitable for the aviation ambassador role
- if needed, evidence of support from your employer or educational institution

Your information will be kept securely on a secure system within DfT and destroyed within 3 months after the assessment process has been completed.
Data submitted to this application is given by consent of the individual completing the application. If special category personal data [opens in new window] is contained in your application, we will process this only if explicit consent has been given.
