This is the application form for the Royal Society of Chemistry Accessibility Grants.

Before completing your application, make sure you have read our eligibility criteria and guidelines on our website.

You can apply for up to a maximum of £1200/year to assist with additional financial costs that you incur for specific assistance required to enable your attendance at a chemistry related meeting, conference or workshop or a professional development event.

  • paying for equipment or assistance to enable your attendance
  • paying for additional travel expenses that you incur to enable your attendance

It is expected that you have already approached your employer or institution regarding your accessibility needs. This grant is not intended to replace the responsibility of your employer, institution, venues or event organisers to make their events accessible to all attendees.  Venues and event organisers have a legal duty to make reasonable adjustments to enable access to all attendees.

Documentary evidence of your disability, health condition or impairment may be requested.

We will ask you to upload PDF documents including a full breakdown of the associated costs and proof of participation from the event organiser in the application form.

We are unable to fund retrospective applications.  Make sure that you allow at least 6 weeks between the submission of your application form and the event date.
