Isle of Anglesey County Council Plan 2017 - 2022
0%
What is this 5-year plan about?

In this plan we are letting you know about our aims and what we hope to do in the years 2017-22. The plan will:
  • Help us decide what is most important when we plan and provide services
  • Help us to decide how we spend our money each year
  • Help us keep track of what we are doing well and if we are doing what we said we would
The most important part of this Plan is recognising how we want to work with others to make sure that we have the best services that can make life better for everyone on the Island.

About Anglesey

Anglesey is an Island just over 700km square in size, and is mostly made up of small towns, villages and farm land. It has 200km of coastline which are made up of sandy beaches and rocky coves that bring a large number of tourists here in the summer.

The A55 road connects our Island to the rest of Wales and is used by passengers and lorries to travel quickly to and from Holyhead Port.

Almost 70,000 people live on Anglesey, this is less than most other County Council areas in Wales. All of Anglesey’s towns and villages can be reached within half an hour from the Council’s main offices in Llangefni.

The Island is split in to 11 wards, each one has more than one County Councillor. There are 30 County Councillors in total.

The Leader of the Council is Councillor Llinos Medi Huws.

What we want to do over the next 5 years

To carry on our work to help the people of Anglesey be self-supporting and live in strong and healthy communities that are
  • Prosperous
  • Vibrant
  • Thriving and resilient
We aim to do this by making sure our work falls in line with the goals of the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015
