Thank you for your interest in the Guidance Skills Advanced Course.
This online training is intended for experienced careers advisers/consultants who regularly provide one-to-one guidance and who are already competent and confident practitioners. This course is suitable for those who are interested in reviewing their current practice and developing new perspectives and skills.
It's an intensive course, designed to develop reflective guidance practice focusing on developing a model of guidance; refining contracting skills; application and reflection using career development theories; and higher-level facilitative skills.
Therefore, it is a prerequisite for applicants to have, at the very least, three years’ one-to-one careers guidance experience by the course commencement date.
Places on Guidance Skills (Advanced) are strictly limited to four participants per tutor and allocated by the training team through this application.
The course develops reflective guidance practice and this application form is your first opportunity to try this out and deeply consider your current practice. It is the initial stage of the course and we cannot stress enough how important it is to take time on this initial exercise to avoid disappointment.
