Strengths-Based Practice Guidance
Social workers – we need your voice!
Would you like to help shape national practice guidance on Strengths-Based Approaches?
The Chief Social Worker, Sarah McClinton, is working with IMPACT – the UK Centre to Improve Adult Social Care, alongside a wide range of partners, to refresh the Strengths-Based Practice guidance (first published in 2019).
This work brings together people with lived experience, Principal Social Workers, and colleagues from statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
Following several collaborative sessions, a draft of the updated guidance has been developed. We are now keen to hear directly from frontline social workers, who are the primary audience for this guidance. Nothing is final at this stage - we genuinely want your insight, challenge, and ideas to ensure the guidance is useful, practical, and easy to apply in everyday practice.
Please note this event is aimed at adult social workers; please note that all content and discussions will be focused and tailored to that professional context.
If you would like to be involved in shaping this important piece of work, please complete the Smart Survey questionnaire response by Monday 8th June 2026. (Please note that the Break Out room discussions will be transcribed.)
