Welcome to IDR’s survey of Standby and Call-out Pay 2026
Responding to emergencies and a 24/7 demand for products and services puts a greater onus on employers to have policies and procedures in place that ensure staff are available to respond to incidents. Care staff, engineers, managers and technicians are just some of the jobs that may be required to meet such demands.
This study aims to capture the typical premiums that organisations pay to workers when they are on standby and when they have to respond to a call-out.
The survey will take around 20 minutes to complete, and you can fill it out in more than one sitting by clicking 'save and continue later' at the bottom of any page. The deadline for completing the survey is 5pm, Wednesday 29 July 2026.
All those who participate will receive a free summary report of the results as well as a 10% discount on any purchase of the full report. Taking part will therefore equip you with the latest information on terms in this important area, at a time when all aspects of pay are under pressure.
