Adapting a home helps to promote independent living for individuals and their families. It also results in fewer people staying in hospital unnecessarily or moving into care prematurely. Disability Facilities Grants can, where a need has been identified, help eligible people of all ages by contributing to the costs of appropriate and reasonable adaptations.
The renewals policy set out the type of assistance provided, following guidance. We wish to build on this as we move forward and we welcome peoples’ views and suggestions on the existing approach and ideas on future assistance and support.
