Bristol City Council is trialling pavement-mounted gully channels that allow residents to run an electric vehicle (EV) charging cable safely beneath the pavement. This removes trip hazards and maintains accessibility. This Expression of Interest form is designed to determine initial eligibility to take part in the trial.
Bristol City Council will be seeking to use grant funding to support the cost of installations for residents (subject to approval). Installations will cost in the region of £2,000 to £6,000 per gully, and the entire cost will be met by you, the applicant.
You may be eligible if you:
- Live in Bristol and normally park on-street outside your home
- Own (or lease) an EV or have one on order within 6 months
- Do not have off-street parking
- Have a pavement outside your property
- Agree to a technical survey
- Accept that installation is subject to Highways approval
What You’ll Need Before You Start
- A photo of the pavement
- A photo facing the street
- Knowledge of any parking restrictions
- A rough estimate of pavement width
- Contact details
Estimated completion time: 10 minutes.
Having a gully charging solution installed will not guarantee a reserved parking space on the public highway outside your home.
