This scheme is part of a package of works by Bristol City Council and South Gloucestershire Council to prepare for many more people visiting and travelling through the area when the new Aviva Arena opens in 2028.
The improvements aim to:

provide people with safer walking, wheeling and cycling routes so more people are encouraged to travel by these modes of transport

improve journeys for those travelling by bus

manage traffic and parking, especially the future demand by Arena visitors
The map shows the extent of the highway proposals for Charlton Road.
