Remote3 Online Challenges
Between April and June we ran a series of zoom webinars where we gave a short talk about an aspect of the Boulby Underground Laboratory and then introduced a computing challenge. Each following week we highlighted a few previous challenge projects before introducing the next one. At the end of June, we introduced our Summer Challenge - an exciting coding project which young people can work on either individually or in teams. We'll be holding a check-in and testing event on Monday 10 August (11:00), the closing date for entries will be midnight on Sunday 6 September, and we will hold a celebration event on Monday 21 September (16:30). All live events will be recorded and we will share the recordings. Everyone entering will receive a certificate, and there will be some other exciting prizes to be won. The talks and challenges were aimed at 10-14 year olds, and it will always be possible to complete the challenges using scratch, a free computing language which can be used online (https://scratch.mit.edu/). Please complete this survey to receive full details of the Summer Challenge, and connection details for the virtual events. You can unsubscribe at any time.
