1. Childcare Sufficiency Assessment - Parent/Carer Survey

Bristol City Council
Parent / Carer Questionnaire about
Childcare in Bristol – Autumn 2018

The Childcare Act 2006 places a legal duty on every local authority to secure sufficiency of childcare as far is reasonably practicable:
  • to enable parents / carers to take up or remain in work or take up training opportunities to access employment
  • to secure free early learning provision for all eligible children in their area (including Eligible 2 year olds).

To determine this, we count the number of childcare places, the take up of those places and ask for parent / carer opinions on several aspects of childcare. To gather this information, we are consulting with parents / carers, childcare providers and other relevant agencies.
The results will enable us to highlight any gaps in childcare provision and address these where possible. We will publish the results on our website by the end of the year. Current information about all aspects of childcare is available at https://www.bristol.gov.uk/schools-learning-early-years/early-years-and-childcare
Your information you provide will be held securely and will be completely anonymous. For further information on how we protect your data, please read our Privacy Notice https://www.bristol.gov.uk/en_US/about-our-website/privacy-and-processing-notice-for-care-and-safeguarding-services .
We would be very grateful if you could complete this survey before Friday 30th November 2018 to enable us to review childcare in Bristol.

Thank you
