Pavenham Village Hall survey 2019

1. About this survey

Why Pavenham Village Hall & Playing Fields Committee is undertaking this survey
The Village Hall moved to its current location, on the then new playing fields, in 1980. It was purpose-built and has served the village well for almost forty years. Some changes have occurred over time, most recently the introduction of a new audio-visual system in the Main Hall, but use of the Hall is declining, particularly amongst villagers.

Today, the mainstays of use are the Women’s Institute, Whist Drive, Table Tennis Club, Fellowship, Ting Dene, and occasional use by the Tennis and Cricket Clubs. All of which, being village organisations, benefit from the lowest hire rates.

External hires mainly come from the Zimbabwean community, which provide about 50% of the Hall’s income, when payments by the Tennis and Cricket Clubs and the annual grant of £3,000.00 from the Parish Council are excluded.

So, we want to know what we can do to breathe new life into the Village Hall, to make it both relevant to each of us as villagers and economically sustainable.

Consequently, we will be grateful if you can take the time (it will take about 15 minutes) to complete this survey, which will close on Saturday, 23 March 2019.
