A factor contributing to the failure of public services to meet need, is that they are designed in isolation of user experience. This can result in inefficient use of resources; services that don’t work for all; missed opportunities for collaboration and integration; and in the worst cases, catastrophic failure. ICIPS is leading research to identify the cultural, behavioural, process and other factors, necessary to ensure lived experience is at the heart of all service design.
