The Civil Justice Statistics publication presents statistics on the type and volume of civil county court cases that are processed through the justice system of England and Wales. It also includes statistics on:
  • Judicial Review cases processed by the High Court
  • Business and Property Courts
  • Biannual figures on Privacy Injunctions
  • Annual figures on proceedings in the Royal Courts of Justice and Judge Sitting Days
The statistical release is published each quarter and consists of a set of documents:
  • The main bulletin, which provides key figures, explanation and commentary on Civil Court processes.
  • A set of main statistical tables (accessible version also available).
  • More detailed sets of underlying data in CSV files.
  • Guidance on the information in this publication.
  • Business and Property Courts (BPC) tables and infographic.
  • Two R Shiny data visualisation tools which allow users to interrogate the Civil Justice and Judicial review data easily.
We currently publish these statistics 4 times a year and want to ensure these outputs are understood and valued by all of our end users. We are therefore seeking to learn more about how stakeholders use the statistics. This will help us prioritise improvements on what our stakeholders find useful. You are invited to please complete this online survey, by 1st March 2023. This should take 5-10 minutes.

MOJ will consider all responses to the survey questions and report back on the findings and conclusions after the survey has closed. Although we can’t guarantee that we can implement all suggestions as it will be resource-dependent, we will prioritise them and investigate what is feasible based on data, resources, and timescales.
Thank you for providing your views and helping MOJ improve the service they provide.
