What Works Centre for Wellbeing Development

The What Works Centre for Wellbeing is useful if what it does helps support practical action to improve wellbeing.  We have spoken to many people in the development of the Centre but there is no way we would be able to know about and reach everyone who can help.  Your views - supportive and critical - are essential for the centre to be effective and we are grateful you have taken the time to contribute in this way. 
 
The What Works Centres are based on the principle that good decision-making should be informed by the best available evidence on what works and what does not. It aims to ensure that resources are focused on those things which will have the greatest positive impact. What Works Centres are fundamentally different from standard research centres. They aim to directly support policy makers, commissioners and local practitioners by providing reliable, accessible products which communicate the likely impact of real policy initiatives, and building professional capacity to use evidence effectively.
 
The aim of these questions is to put the needs and interests of users and stakeholders at the heart of shaping the workplan. It is also intended to support use and generation of a practice relevant evidence base.
Specifically, the purpose of these questions is to:
1.       Understand the audience and customer for the what works centre
2.       Scope the shape of the work and structure for the Centre
3.       Be a basis to follow up with more detailed conversations with particular groups
4.       Provide a baseline from which to work from 
 
Feel free to answer as little or as much as you want.
 
This survey will remain open until the end of March and will be used as an evidence base by the development group.  Please do share with relevant colleagues.
