The Lovelace Medal is one of BCS's most prestigious awards, recognising outstanding contribution to the understanding and advancement of computing. Named in honour of Ada Lovelace, mathematician, visionary, and widely regarded as the world’s first computer programmer, the Medal celebrates individuals whose work has fundamentally advanced computing knowledge, practice or its application, and whose contribution has had a significant and lasting impact on the discipline.
