We updated our patients earlier in the year after Dartford Borough Council agreed plans to work with NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB) to deliver a new medical centre at Steele Avenue, Greenhithe.
We are pleased to confirm those plans for a new medical centre continue to be developed, and subject to NHS approvals, will mean a number of benefits will be delivered for our patients.
The proposed new building will bring together Elmdene Surgery and Ivy Bower Surgery (Temple Hill Group), creating a modern, purpose-built facility that will be shared by both practices.
It will allow us to continue providing the same services currently available, while giving us extra capacity in a suitable building that meets current standards.
When we asked for your views in 2022, there was broad support for relocating services to a new medical centre. We also undertook engagement events for this site during 2023.The main themes reflected in the feedback we received from patients and other stakeholders were the importance of an accessible location, modern facilities and having enough space to meet future demand.
