What is Safeguarding?
We all want to live well and be safe in our communities. Safeguarding is a term we use to protect the health, wellbeing and human rights of individuals, which allow people to live free from abuse, harm and neglect. Some adults are more vulnerable and at greater risk of abuse and neglect.

Who are the East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board?
Every local authority in England must have a Safeguarding Adults Board by law.

The East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board (ERSAB) is led by an independent chair and made up of representatives from a number of organisations including the local authority, police, health, care and voluntary sectors.

East Riding Safeguarding Adults Board (ERSAB) strives to ensure that all agencies that deliver services within the East Riding work together to minimise the risk of abuse to adults at risk and to protect those subject to abuse.  The Board also promote awareness within the East Riding that safeguarding adults at risk is everyone’s business.

What is the Safeguarding Adults Board Strategy?
ERSAB currently have a three year strategy which has helped to focus on achieving a number of objectives since 2019.  If you would like to see more information please follow the below links:
