How do we use your personal information?
We are collecting opinions on waste and recycling from residents in Essex, Peterborough and Kent. This is part of a wider EU funded project called BLUEPRINT, which is looking at how circular economy practices can be embedded in the France (Channel) England (FCE) region. We will be using the data to produce a report on the current state of waste and recycling in the FCE area.

Personal information will only be collected if you opt-in to be contacted about joining a focus group, or if you opt-in to be contacted if you win the prize draw for completing the survey. Your details will be stored in a secure database and will not be used for any other purpose.  Your personal data will only be shared with your relevant local authority.  Please note we will be speaking to a limited number of participants, and unfortunately this means we will not be able to speak to everyone who expresses an interest.  By expressing interest, you are not committed to take part. You can change your mind at any time.

Anonymised results from this survey will be used to produce a report which will be shared with BLUEPRINT project partners. It will be made available on the BLUEPRINT website.

Who else might we share your information with?
Personal information collected will be shared with the appropriate authority based on the resident’s location.  This will be either Essex County Council, Peterborough Environment City Trust or Kent County Council for the purpose of organising a focus group.

Who is the data controller for this processing?
Essex County Council will be the data controller for this processing.

What is the legal basis for our use of your personal data?
The legal basis we will be relying on for using your personal data is consent.  You have the right at any time to withdraw your consent at any time. To do this, please email

How long will we keep your personal information?
