The Arnewood Practice, New Milton Health Centre, and Barton Webb-Peploe Partnership are joining together to form the ‘Coastal Medical Partnership’ from 1 April 2019, with the aim of fully merging the three current practices from April 2020. The reasons for this are as follows:
- Having worked well together for many years, we believe we can improve the quality of our care and attract more services, locally, for you to benefit from.
- By being a larger organisation, we can continue to attract high quality clinical and non-clinical staff in an environment which is challenging to achieve this. The BMA reported that 200 practices closed last year, due to financial and staffing pressures, and we are determined that this should not occur in this area.
- The longer term plans for the NHS are that practices will need to work together in geographic ‘areas’, holding contracts together and receiving funding to employ more allied health professionals such as pharmacists, social prescribers, or paramedics. By being a single practice, we can deliver this more effectively and seamlessly to our patients than if we remained as separate organisations.
We would value your opinions on this merger, and thank you for taking the time to complete the questionnaire.
