The Centres of Excellence Programme
Centres of Excellence is a whole-school approach towards embedding and delivering high-quality financial education. Each Centre (school) gains accreditation by working towards a set of criteria outlined in the ‘Developing Excellence Framework’, which focuses on:
- Leadership and Management
- Teaching and Learning
- Pupil Assessment and Involvement
- Staff Development
- Sharing Financial Education.
Programme openings are not always available and preference will be given to schools serving pupils in areas of high deprivation. Unfortunately the programme is unavailable to fee paying schools or those with a current Ofsted rating of Special Measures or Requires Improvement. The programme is currently available in England and Wales. A pilot to extend the programme to Scotland is currently underway.
