Cervical screening (the smear test) is a free test available from the NHS in Scotland.
The test helps prevent cervical cancer by checking the cervix for a virus called high-risk HPV. It is routinely offered to people with a cervix between the ages of 25 to 64 every 5 years. To receive an automatic invitation to cervical screening your contact details must be up to date at your registered GP Practice.
Some people do not take part in cervical screening. There may be a range of reasons for this, and they may vary between different people, groups, or communities. If you did not take part in cervical screening when last invited, you do not have to wait until your next invitation, you can contact your GP Practice at any time to make an appointment.
We are interested to hear from people who do and people who do not routinely take part in cervical screening. This survey will help NHS Highland understand what, if anything, might make it easier for people to take part in cervical screening.
The information you provide is anonymous which means staff accessing it will not know who provided the information. The information you provide will be used to help us improve our cervical screening service.
