The London Borough of Redbridge is seeking to introduce a revised Housing Allocations Scheme in 2024/25 following a period of consultation.
In introducing the revised Housing Allocations Scheme we seek to:
- set out clearly how we allocate and let social housing in the borough
- ensure transparency and fairness in decisions with regards to an application
- improve accessibility for applicants, making it easier to navigate and understand
- simplify eligibility and qualification for joining the housing register
- improve the way we allocate homes; this is especially important given the demand for housing and the small number of properties that are available to let each year
- ensure compliance with recent legislation, regulation and industry practice.
We would like to hear from you as you are a key stakeholder in the borough, and we value your opinion on the proposed changes to the housing allocations scheme. Feedback can be given via an online survey. The survey is anonymous, and the names or details of any individuals will not be identified and will not be shared.
If you have a specific question that relates to your housing register application, please contact the housing register team by sending an e-mail separately to the housing register team on housingregister@redbridge.gov.uk.
This consultation survey will be open for a period of 13 weeks, commencing on the 29 July 2024 and closing on the 27 October 2024.
Following the consultation, we will use your feedback to finalise changes to the Housing Allocation Scheme in November 2024.
