UK Disability Social Security Changes Consultation
The UK Government has announced their intention to reform who can qualify for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), the health element of universal credit and to scrap the Work Capability Assessment. The government also want to find out what support and assistance disabled people would need to access the workplace.
Disabled people in Scotland receive Adult Disability Payment instead of PIP but the amount of money the UK Government spend on PIP will affect how much money the Scottish Government have to spend on ADP.
We know that these changes have caused a lot of concern for disabled people and we have written to the Prime Minister to express DES view that these plans should be scrapped. However, the government are asking people what they think of their proposals and DES want to tell the government what our members think of their ideas.
We have split our survey into sections to make it easier to answer.
