The NDAA is in its second phase of the Dementia Friendly Hospitals programme – our campaign to improve hospital care for people living with dementia. It builds on the original call to action, the Right Care which saw over 90% of NHS Acute trusts commit to becoming dementia-friendly. Our aim is to achieve 100% of NHS Acute Trusts to sign up to the Charter. The Charter provides both high level principles of what a dementia-friendly hospital should look like and recommended actions that hospitals can take to fulfil them. Our intention is then to build a peer to peer support network that enables your hospital to deliver against the principles of the Charter, including sharing with others examples of good and best practice.
