LGA Rising Needs in Early Years Provider Survey 2025

1. Introduction

0%

This survey has been developed to understand the impact of changing needs of children in early years education and childcare from the perspective of frontline professionals and those leading settings in England. We want to hear from those leading and working in private and voluntary settings, school-based early years providers and childminders. The survey is being conducted by Isos Partnership for the Local Government Association (LGA) and the findings will feed into a national report which will inform the LGA’s future support and advice for councils, and discussions with government and wider stakeholders.

We will ask a few questions about your role to help us analyse the answers, and then 15 survey questions. These are mostly multiple choice and are designed to take no more than 10 minutes to fill in.  The deadline for completing the survey is noon on Wednesday 14th May, although we will keep the survey open until Monday 19th in case of further responses.

The data that you submit through the survey will be held in accordance with our data collection policy, which can be read in full here. The data collected will be used to understand the impact of changing needs of children in early years. We are not collating names and no data will be published in a way that enables individuals or settings to be identified.

About the wording we use in this survey

We use the phrase “additional needs” in this survey to refer to children who need additional support (over and above what would be typically expected for a child of their age) to access learning. Those with additional needs will include those with an identified Special Educational Need or Disability or with an emerging need or developmental delay.
