Energy Skills Passport Evaluation Survey

1. Energy Skills Passport Evaluation Survey

0%

Fortia Insight has been commissioned by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) to evaluate the Energy Skills Passport (ESP).

You are taking part in this survey after seeing an invitation to share your views on the ESP. We are seeking views from a wide range of people, including both those who have used the ESP and those who have not, to ensure the evaluation reflects different experiences and perspectives.

Your views are important and will help to understand how the ESP is being used, users’ experiences of the tool, and any early impacts on workers considering or undertaking a transition into clean energy roles. Clean energy jobs are roles that help reduce carbon emissions and support the transition to low-carbon energy. This includes work in areas such as energy generation, electricity networks, clean heat, energy efficiency, and greenhouse gas removals. Examples include offshore wind, solar power, onshore wind, hydrogen, carbon capture and storage (CCUS), insulation and retrofit, heat pumps, nuclear, bioenergy, battery storage, and EV charging infrastructure. These roles may involve working in construction, installation, operations, maintenance, or technical support—for example, offshore wind technicians, solar PV installers, heat pump engineers, battery storage technicians, and EV charging infrastructure engineers.

Taking part is voluntary, and you may withdraw at any time. If you are happy to be contacted in the future to take part in an interview or focus group, please provide your contact details on the next page. Providing your contact details is optional and not required to complete the survey. As a thank you everyone who completes the survey will be entered into a prize draw for £100.

Your responses will be used solely for the purposes of this evaluation. All information will be kept strictly confidential, stored securely with access limited to the evaluation team, and handled in line with UK GDPR and Government Social Research ethical principles. Data will be reported in anonymised or aggregated form, and any open text responses will be reviewed carefully to ensure individuals cannot be identified. For further details, please open the following privacy notice in a new tab: Privacy Notice.

If you choose to provide information about your training or employment history, this will be used only to understand patterns and experiences across respondents.

The survey should take around 12–15 minutes to complete. If you have any questions, or if you later wish to withdraw your data from this survey, please contact Ray Blythe at ray.blythe@fortiainsight.com. You can request to withdraw the information you have provided up until September 2026 (end of the evaluation).
