Healthwatch Isle of Wight Pharmacy First Survey

1. Introduction

0%

Healthwatch Isle of Wight is the independent voice for people who use health and social care services on the Island. We listen to your experiences and use what you tell us to help improve local services.

We would like to hear your views and experiences of the NHS Pharmacy First service, whether you have used the service or not.

Pharmacy First enables people to get advice and, where appropriate, treatment directly from a community pharmacist for seven common conditions, without needing to see a GP first. These include:

Sinusitis
Sore throat
Earache in children
Infected insect bites
Impetigo
Shingles
Uncomplicated urinary tract infections (UTIs) in women

If you have used Pharmacy First, we would like to know about your experience. If you haven’t used it, we would also like to understand why.

Your feedback will help us understand what is working well, any barriers people may face when accessing Pharmacy First, and where improvements could be made.

The survey should only take a few minutes to complete. All responses are anonymous and confidential, and we will not record your name or include any information that could identify you.

We may use anonymous quotes from people’s experiences in our reports to help illustrate the issues raised.

We will bring together what people tell us and publish a report on the Healthwatch Isle of Wight website in early 2027.

The survey closes on Friday 15 January 2027.
