IDR Pay and Conditions in Fulfilment Centres 2023

1. Welcome

Dear Colleague,

Welcome to IDR's 2023 survey of pay and conditions for roles in fulfilment centres.

Before the pandemic, internet sales were 19.1% of total retail sales. But the latest figures show that this has grown to 26.1%. This has made for increased demand for workers in this important economic area, placing upward pressure on pay and conditions. Taking part in this survey will help you benchmark pay for key roles in your fulfilment centres. It will also allow you to take the temperature of the labour market and gauge the extent of recruitment and retention issues, again allowing you to see how your organisation compares. All of this will help you make better reward decisions.

This survey is being undertaken by Incomes Data Research (IDR), an independent pay research organisation. The results will provide you with a comprehensive overview of current pay rates for a range of key roles within Fulfilment Centres. The results will also include details of shift pay and the extent of recruitment and retention issues, and skills shortages.

All participants will receive a free summary of the results as a 'thank you'.

The survey will take around 15 minutes to complete, and you can fill it out in more than one sitting by clicking 'Save and Continue Later' at the bottom of any page and a link will be sent to you to allow you to edit your responses until the survey closes. If you wish, you can also print the survey and/or your responses to review offline by going to the end of the survey and selecting 'print response'.

The deadline for completing the survey is 5pm, Thursday 2 November 2023.

If you have any questions, or would like a hard copy of the questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,
