The Government Statistical Service (GSS) is a cross-government network led by the National Statistician. The GSS supports statisticians in England, Scotland and Wales and works in partnership with the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency (NISRA) to provide advice, analysis and a statistical evidence base to help people make better decisions.
Across Government, departments publish a large number of publications and datasets on a wide range of topics including health, education and welfare to help serve society’s needs. We, as government statisticians, want to ensure the statistics we produce answer the right questions and meet user needs. To help do this, the GSS is developing a new UK strategy to improve user engagement.
