Prehabilitation means getting ready for cancer treatment following a cancer diagnosis, regardless of treatment or stage of cancer, and can make a positive difference to the way in which patients respond and recover from treatment. Prehabilitation focusses on areas like nutrition (helping you to have a balanced intake of food & nutrients to keep you healthy), lifestyle, mental health, smoking & alcohol consumption.

In partnership with Macmillan Cancer Support, NHS Ayrshire & Arran would like to invite you to take part in a questionnaire about your experiences of prehabilitation (if any) and your thoughts on how prehabilitation services should be delivered in the future.

We want to hear from individuals who are 16+, and have recently undergone cancer treatment (on or after June 2022), and parents/caregivers of children under the age of 16 who have received cancer treatment within the same dates, to help shape prehabilitation services in Ayrshire & Arran.

Before you decide if you would like to take part, we need to be sure that you understand why we are carrying out this questionnaire and what it will involve for you. This participant information sheet aims to provide you with information on the Macmillan Prehabilitation Project and this questionnaire.  If you have any questions, please contact Robyn Scott, Health Improvement Officer, using the details provided below.
