We are inviting you to take part in this survey to better understand young people’s experiences and views on health and wellbeing. Your voice matters and will help shape the future of healthcare and support services in Suffolk.

Why am I being asked to fill in this survey?

We are Knowing Works. We deliver the Healthwatch service in Suffolk. We ask people about their experiences of using the NHS, as well as their education, social care, and wellbeing. Through our research, we shape local services and make support better for everyone. We are working with your school, and the NHS, to ask questions about your health and wellbeing.

How will my information be used?

The survey is anonymous. It means we will not ask for your name or for information about how we can contact you.

A report summarising the responses of all the thousands of young people who participate in our survey will also be shared with the public, the NHS, Suffolk County Council, and local charities.

If you attend a school, college, or training provider they will receive a report about our survey results, but staff in your school or college will not be able to know how you have responded to the survey or identify you.

What will the survey cover?

The survey will cover topics around overall wellbeing, happiness, anxiety, nicotine use, resilience, bullying, unhealthy behaviours, self-perceptions, asthma, and self-harm.

Please note that all questions are optional, and you can skip any question if you prefer not to answer it.

What if I'm worried about my health and wellbeing?

If you have concerns about your health or wellbeing, you should try to talk to someone you trust. If you are unsure who to talk to or need support on any of the issues in this survey, you can visit the following website: https://healthwatchsuffolk.co.uk/signposting/youngpeople/. This signposts to organisations and sources of advice based on what young people and professionals have told us.

You can also find this link at the end of the survey after you have taken part. We have also included information in the survey about local support services.
