IOP Ambassador Application Form 2025-6

What is an IOP Ambassador?

Our Ambassadors from around the UK and Ireland are one of our key links to university physics students. Our Ambassadors are proactive and committed students who promote physics, encourage others to pursue careers in physics and lead on on-campus IOP events and activities.

Our Ambassadors are perfectly placed to support the physics student community by:

  • developing activities on campus that strengthen student opportunities
  • building campus relationships
  • promoting the benefits of extracurricular engagement
  • supporting IOP activities throughout the academic year, acting as a key link to their university's physics students and department

If you'd like to learn more about the Ambassador role you can follow this link or email studentcommunity@iop.org to set up an informal discussion about the role with our Student Engagement Officer.

Ambassadors promote physics in a spirit of inclusivity and actively reach out to underrepresented groups on campus. We are seeking people from all walks of life, backgrounds, ethnicities and faiths and welcome applications that reflect the diversity of communities across the UK and Ireland and encourage applications from under-represented groups.

We are not necessarily looking for someone that has tons of experience running events - we're looking for someone is passionate about physics, can approach and engage new people and is keen to learn and develop!
