What is this study about?

We are looking for residents of the Isle of Man to take part in a short online interview which will explore your current travel habits on the Isle of Man and your opinions on a selection of newer modes of travel, such as e-scooters and e-bikes. The interview will last no longer than 30 minutes. For your time you will be compensated with a £15 Amazon voucher (or if you prefer, a £15 donation to a charity of your choosing).
Participation in this study is entirely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time if you change your mind, without providing a reason.
What now?
If you’re interested in taking part in an interview, we would like you to read the information at the start of this survey and answer a few questions about yourself. This should only take a few minutes to complete.
If you are selected to take part in an interview, we will contact you within five working days of you completing this survey to arrange your attendance. The interview will last no longer than 30 minutes and will be held via Microsoft Teams (accessible via an internet browser). With your permission, the interview will be audio recorded. Please also note that you must have access to a desktop or laptop PC, tablet, or smartphone to participate.
What data will be collected and what will happen with the data?
If you decide to participate, and you are selected for an interview, the personal data we will collect from you are:
- Your name and email address so that we can contact you to arrange the interview and compensate you for taking part.
- Audio recordings of the interview so that we can use the recordings for data analysis purposes.
These data will be kept private and processed in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Electronic files containing participants’ personal data needed for arranging the interview and compensation are accessible only to TRL staff members who need to access them. All data will be anonymised as soon as possible and we will not share your personal data with anyone else. The anonymised findings from this research (which may include some anonymised quotes) will be shared with the client, the Isle of Man Government.
All personal data will be securely deleted or destroyed after analysis is complete at the latest at the end of November 2022.
