Thank you for your interest in joining one of NAPAC’s 12-week psycho-educational support groups!
This group will run weekly on Monday evenings from 6.00 to 8.30 p.m. starting on 16 September 2019. The group will then meet for three additional sessions once a month.
The venue is in central Nottingham and is wheelchair accessible.
Our support groups are limited to 12 participants and are aimed at empowering survivors to take the next steps in their recovery. They are facilitated by two very experienced and accredited counsellors who have a deep understanding of the challenges involved in overcoming the impact of all types of childhood abuse.
The aim of our support groups is to create a safe space for survivors to explore and gain greater understanding of their life experiences. Facilitators will draw on a range of approaches aimed at equipping participants with greater knowledge of the impact of abuse and providing tools to support their recovery.
The group will work on common difficulties such as guilt, shame, anger, trust and intimacy through positive interpersonal interactions and targeted exercises.
Participation in the group can complement any therapy you are currently engaged with or have engaged with in the past.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of the group, please note that you will have to be able to commit to attending all 12 weekly sessions.
